Turkish Lamp I

I did this one before the portrait. In a desperate attempt to get out of my artist's block, I used acrylic for the initial block in and oil to finish it off. It is true when they say that you learn the fastest when you do daily paintings. I could redo this painting and it will look significantly improved. It's amazing how much you learn when you have the time to paint everyday.

Truth to be told, I want to do this everyday. It's a joy to wake up to a new session of painting everyday. Unfortunately, I am a professional painter by day. (I call myself a painter because I believe I am just the brush for my client's ideas). I find no joy in working on lesser aesthetics but it pays me well. Everyday I am subconsciously seeing signs that I should quit them all.
